Affordable Pet Hospital is seeking a full-time veterinary assistant/receptionist to join our team in providing high-quality veterinary medical services and customer service to the Tampa Bay area pet population.
We’re a full-service animal hospital focused on holistic medicine and client-based care. Our facility is state-of-the-art and equipped with the latest in diagnostic equipment, including digital radiography, ultrasound, and therapeutic cold laser, as well as a full surgery suite and grooming parlor. We’ve made pocket pets a specialty, and, unlike many vets in our area, we offer house calls and mobile services.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, dependable, and professional team player who enjoys working with people and their companion animals in a fast-paced environment. This position involves working Mondays and Saturdays. A high school diploma is required. One-two years of recent related experience preferred but not necessary.
Duties include:
- Client education
- Answering multiple phone lines
- Greeting clients and their pets
- Conducting cash and credit card transactions
- Scheduling appointments
- Acquiring a knowledge of basic veterinary products and protocols
Physical demands: Individual will have extended periods of sitting, standing, stretching, and bending. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. The position requires lifting animals onto examining and surgical tables.
Work environment: Standard office and surgical/hospital environment, with exposure to hazardous chemicals, and sharp objects. Potential of exposure to parasites and infectious diseases that can be carried and transmitted by animals.
