Affordable Pet Hospital is seeking a full-time, experienced lead veterinary technician to join our team in providing high-quality veterinary medical services and customer service to the Tampa Bay area pet population.

We’re a full-service animal hospital focused on holistic medicine and client-based care. Our facility is state-of-the-art and equipped with the latest in diagnostic equipment, including digital radiography, ultrasound, and therapeutic cold laser, as well as a full surgery suite and grooming parlor. We’ve made pocket pets a specialty, and, unlike many vets in our area, we offer house calls and mobile services.

The successful candidate will have five years’ veterinary technician experience, including one year as lead technician. The person we hire will also be a self-motivated team player, able to handle a fast-paced work environment and stressful situations. This position requires a commitment to working Mondays and Saturdays. CVT or LVT preferred.

Should we hire you, your duties will include performing various diagnostics, such as blood analysis, radiology, ultrasound assistance, and dental prophylaxis; assisting with surgical procedures and client education; answering multiple phone lines; conducting cash or credit card transactions; and scheduling appointments.

Physical demands: Individual will have extended periods of sitting, standing, stretching, and bending. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. The position requires lifting animals onto examining and surgical tables.

Work environment: Standard office and surgical/hospital environment, with exposure to hazardous chemicals, and sharp objects. Potential of exposure to parasites and infectious diseases that can be carried and transmitted by animals.
